About

Jorge Lanzas is a multitalented music producer, songwriter and BRIT Certified Gold engineer with over 15 years of experience in the industry. He started his career in his home country of Managua, Nicaragua, as a touring drummer. After six years of dedicating himself to live performance, Lanzas developed a desire to capture music’s magical moments as a producer and made the jump from stage to studio.

When his mentor, Grammy Award-winning mixing engineer Dave Pensado (Mary J. Blige, Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey), urged him to further his career as a music producer in Los Angeles, Lanzas moved to the United States in 2014. Pensado took Lanzas under his wing and welcomed him into the Los Angeles music community. It was at the popular weekly industry barbecue, 4/20 Thursdays, at Legends Studios, formerly Enterprise Studios, where Lanzas connected with a group of collaborators and mentors who would influence his career, including producer and songwriter Appu Krishnan (Christina Aguilera, Jordin Sparks, GOT7), Grammy Award-nominated songwriter and producer Keith Hetrick (Charlie Wilson, Jennifer Lopez, Boyz II Men), and Grammy Award-nominated and multi-Juno Award-winning producer and songwriter Brandon Friesen (Billy Ray Cyrus, Dionne Warwick, The HU). Lanzas worked with Friesen at Arbor Television from 2016 to 2019, partnering and collaborating on various high-profile projects, such as The Kooks’ “The Best of… So Far,” which was BRIT Certified Gold, and “Let’s Go Sunshine.”

In 2019, Lanzas met and developed independent K-pop artist Jake $ing. The various singles Lanzas co-composed and produced for $ing helped them land and negotiate a record deal for Sony China, earn a number-one single on China’s Urban Pop Radio Music Charts and gain press coverage, including a feature in Rolling Stone India.

Today Lanzas works out of his own private studio near downtown Los Angeles, working with local and international artists on all aspects of music production and talent development.
